In June ShelterTech hosted our first in-person Datathon events since the pandemic began in 2020! After hosting remotely for two years, we learned that the hybrid style event of in-person and remote volunteers would be highly successful. This combination allows those in-person volunteers the experience of camaraderie with colleagues, reintegrates our Community Representatives into this program, and maximizes the accessibility of each event by allowing more volunteers to join from different locations.
We had over 65 volunteers at Deloitte participating on their Impact Day. Most attended in-person and a few joined online. Volunteers were able to learn about homelessness in San Francisco, speak to our community representatives, and help make sure that SFServiceGuide is up to date! Big thank you to Leah Toeniskoetter and Kirsten Rhodes (tag) for having us be a part of Deloitte’s Impact Day this year.
Next, our Datathon with Cisco’s Meraki Gives Team was a huge success, with more than 60 volunteers who joined in their San Francisco office or virtually. Thank you to Quyen Dang, Sandra Ratcliff, and Trisha Chang who helped us organize the event allowing several volunteers to join us and contribute to the Datathon event. Volunteers spent a couple hours listening to our community representatives share their stories and took part in some fun trivia, followed by heads down work on SFServiceGuide!
If your organization is looking for an impactful and insightful volunteer event, consider hosting a Datathon with ShelterTech! This is a great opportunity to contribute to addressing homelessness. Please reach out to learn more!
